Guide to buying from the Shop
Purchase the product online by clicking “Add to Basket”.
This will put the product into “Your Basket”. The basket box will now appear on the right-hand side of all the pages you view and will indicate how many products you have selected. You can always delete items from your basket.
Hard copy and soft copy products
Some products are available as downloads as well as hard copies. If this is the case, the option to purchase the soft copy will automatically be displayed on the product detail page. If you wish to purchase the hard copy, click on “Hardcopy” in the line of text below the product details.
Not all standards and publications are available as a PDF download, please check your delivery method and details of format carefully.
If you wish to change the delivery format once it has been added to your basket, you will need to remove the product from your basket and return to the product detail page.
Viewing your basket
You may choose to view the items in your basket at any time by selecting the “View your basket” link in the basket box.
From this page you may remove items or, if you are purchasing hardcopies, edit the number of items. You can then choose to continue shopping or to check out with your item(s).

When you are ready to order, click on the “Checkout” link either on the basket box or on the basket view page. This will steer you through the online purchasing process.

Member price
If you are a BSI Member, the member price will automatically be used to calculate your order total once you have logged into the BSI website.
Checkout
Once you choose to checkout with your selected item(s), you will be asked to log in if you have not already done so. If you have not used the BSI Shop before you will need to register - .
You will then be asked for your billing address (this will be the address that is registered for the credit card you use for purchase), delivery address, your VAT number if applicable, and your credit card details. Where appropriate, VAT is added to your order total at this stage.
If you entered contact details when you registered, these will be brought up as the default billing address. You are able to edit this address or add a new one if you wish.
If you are purchasing any hard copies of products, you will also be asked to enter a delivery address and select a delivery option. If you are purchasing soft copies, please check that your organization’s firewall and policies allow downloads.
You will then be asked to enter your payment details.
Once you have entered your payment details, your order summary is displayed. At this stage, you are still able to amend or cancel your order. You must confirm that you have agreed to the terms and conditions before you can place your order. Once you have clicked “Place your order”, you cannot make any changes. If there is a problem with your payment details, an error message will appear and the order will not be processed.
Once the purchase is made, you will receive an email confirmation of your order. If you have ordered any soft copy versions, you will receive immediate access to your purchased download(s).
Download expiry
Downloads are available for 72 hours after purchase. If you try to download the product after this time you will receive a termination message. If you wish to reactivate your download please contact the BSI Shop Online Support help desk using the details below.
